A lakeside cottage

Visitor INformation

What you’ll do
Our guests have access to everything from a pier, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, biking, campfires & s’mores. Our outdoor grills are available, as are a number of nearby restaurants and bars. Maximum number of guests must be agreed upon before booking.

What you should bring
A few beach towels. Sunscreen. Bug Spray. Firewood. Shampoo and toiletries. Our kitchen is stocked with the basics (dish soap, trash bags, sponges), but you will want to bring your own spices, foil, baggies, etc. We also start you off with a roll of paper towels but you may want to bring extras. As for food, Hy-Vee is a grocery store in Ripon located roughly 20 minutes from the house. They should have most anything your local grocery store would have back home.​

Yard Games: Washers and Ladderball; perfect your toss.

Kayak: A yellow Ocean Kayak, oars, lifejackets (careful it's heavy).

Fishing: Some rods provided. Be sure to check any DNR rules around daily fishing licenses. BYOB (bait) or visit B&G's bait shop down the road.

Paddle Boarding: Two stand up paddle boards for early morning and evening paddles if you like it quiet.

Hiking/Walking: Wind through neighborhoods and forest preserves. Bring your gym shoes.

Beach: Dodge Memorial County Park is located 15 minutes west of the house in the southwest portion of the lake. There is a sandy beach with walk-in entry to the water with a marked off section for swimming.

Bonfires: A classic bonfire pit with benches and adirondack chairs.

Golf: A few great options for golf within 20 minutes of the house including Lawsonia with its Links course which was named top 5 in the state and top 100 public courses in the country. Other courses include Mascoutin and Tuscumbia.

Pier Jumping: Pretty self explanatory, but one of the most enjoyed activities. You will find a handful of noodles/flotation devices in the boat house for playing in the water.

Boating: Boats, wave runners, kayaks, lillypads and much more can be rented from marinas such as Green Lake Marina or Sterling Marina.

Games: A slew of board games are located in the cabinet under the television.
